Prime Minister Imran Khan, issued orders for timely completion of Kartapur Corridor in a statement issued from Islamabad on Thursday,
He also directed the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) to ensure the completion of the project on the Pakistani side of the border in this regard.
Informed sources have relayed that around 45 per cent of the construction of the first phase of Kartarpur Corridor Project was completed on February 2.
On Tuesday, Foreign Office Spokesperson, Dr Muhammad Faisal, announced in a statement that a delegation would visit New Delhi on March 14 to hold talks on Kartarpur Corridor.
He conveyed this to the acting Indian High Commissioner, who was called to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while adding that an Indian delegation would also reciprocally visit Islamabad on March 28 to further discussions on the draft agreement on Kartarpur Corridor.
On November 28, 2018, Prime Minister Khan had laid the foundation stone of Kartarpur Corridor to link Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Pakistan with Gurdaspur district in India. The unpraecedented occasion was marked by former Indian cricketer and member of Punjab cabinet, Navjot Singh Sidhu, along with several Indian ministers and a group of both Indian as well as international journalists.
