One terrorist was killed by security forces during an intelligence-based operation in the Spinwam tehsil of North Waziristan, Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday.
Hand grenades, SMGs, spare magazines, and communication equipment were recovered during the operation, the military’s media wing added.
Further, ISPR apprised that terrorist activity was foiled in Balochistan’s Qilla Saifullah and Kahan districts. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the terrorists, ISPR added. In another incident, Frontier Corps conducted an operation in the suburbs of Qila Saifullah and Kahan and foiled terrorist activities aimed to “sabotage peace” in Balochistan. Arms and ammunition were recovered during the operation.
Last week, four security officials were martyred and many were wounded while stalling off a terrorist attack on a training centre of a paramilitary force in central Balochistan.
As a result of counter operation, four terrorists – including a suicide bomber – were killed in the botched attack on the Frontier Corps training centre in Loralai district.
Meanwhile in Banu, a hand grenade was recovered outside a private school here on Friday.The bomb disposal squad was called promptly to defuse the grenade thus preventing any loss of lives and property. The police cordoned off the area after recovery of grenade and launched search operation.
