ISLAMABAD: National Assembly (NA) Speaker Ayaz Sadiq and Deputy Speaker Murtaza Javed Abbasi extended warm felicitations to the Christian members of parliament and the Christian community at large on the occasion of Christmas.
In his message, the speaker said that the Prophet Jesus was ordained by Almighty Allah to preach love, peace, tolerance and brotherhood. The Muslims deeply revere the prophet as one of the great messengers of Almighty Allah, he said.
Sadiq also reiterated the legislature and the executive’s pledge to safeguard the rights and privileges enjoyed by all minorities according to the Constitution of Pakistan, guided by the principles of Quaid-e-Azam.
Abbasi said that Jesus Christ’s eternal message of love for humanity and for people of all races communities still holds strong, in ensuring harmony and peace in the world. He said that in the face of the current challenging situation in the country, we should forge ahead with unity to counter the nefarious designs of the country’s enemies.
