A protest demonstration against implementation of extra restrictions on import of sheep and lambs on arrival of Eidul Azha from Afghanistan via Torkham border was held here in Landi Kotal on Friday. The demonstration was organized under the banner of Tanzeem-e-Naujwanan-e-Qabail and a large number of locals participated in it. The protestors were carrying placards inscribed with slogans like “relaxation on import of sheep from Afghanistan”, “impose uniform policy at all borders,” etc and initiated set in on Landi Kotal-Torkham road blockade it for all kinds of traffic. Speaking on the occasion Mirajuddin Shinwari,ex-chief of Tanzeem-e-Naujwanan-e-Qabail Israr Shinwari, Maulana Gazratullah ,President Anjuman-e-Tajeran, Landi Kotal bazar Haji Jafar, Mirajuddin Shinwari and others said that live stalk department and custom officials had already permitted of import of lambs and sheep from Afghanistan through Torkham crossing however additional restrictions adopted by the border security forces restrained the importers to import the sacrificial animals. They said that at Chaman border, the animals were allowed to cross in but ironically at Torkham step mother behavior had been adopted by the security officials, equivalent to deprive the locals from executing Sunnah Ibrahimi.
