The federal government has decided to extend the countrywide lockdown till May 9, announced Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar on Friday.
Speaking at news conference, the minister said that a meeting of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) meeting had been held which decided to extend the date of the lockdown.
Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiative Asad Umar said that the decision had been taken with the consent of “all units of the country including federal government, and governments of all four provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.”
He said that, “We have jointly decided that the current level of lockdown should continue for another two weeks.”
