PAKPATTAN: The anti-corruption circle officer, during an operation against corruption, has apprehended a patwari allegedly involve in receiving bribery for transfer of land.
According to details, Ahmed Ali, resident Chak no 19-KB, lodged a complaint with Pakpattan Anti-Corruption Circle Officer Ghazanfar Tafeel Kumbu stating that he had contacted Zakir, patwari of the area, for transfer of land measuring 7 marlas in his locality. The said patwari has demanded Rs 25,000 for the transfer of the land.
While taking action on the complaint, the circle officer along with a magistrate conducted a raid while the patwari was receiving Rs 25,000 from the complainant.
The raiding team caught the patwari red-handed, registered a case against him and started investigation.
