ISLAMABAD: The Sharif family’s spokesman on Tuesday clarified a news article saying the prime minister’s family did not submit additional documents regarding the Panama Papers case in the Supreme Court (SC) after November 30.
The spokesman said that several television channels aired news that the documents submitted by Hussain Nawaz’s counsel revealed that the Park Lane apartments were purchased in the 1990s or before 2006.
He termed the news ‘totally absurd’ and clarified that no additional documents were submitted to the court after November 30 and the last submitted documents contained the flats’ sales deeds – which only disclosed that the flats, valued at £1.9 million, were purchased 20 years ago. He further said that the documents were submitted on the court’sdirectives.
