LAHORE: Punjab Police Inspector General Mushtaq Sukhera on Thursday dismissed Sheikhupura Traffic DSPs Zahid Khawaja and Naeemul Hasnain for issuing bogus driving licences.
Both the DSPs were found guilty during a departmental investigation led by Nankana Sahib DPO Sahibzada Umar. Umar declared them guilty in his report and proposed strict action against them.
Sukhera heard both DSPs in the orderly room where they failed to prove their innocence. Resultantly, he ordered their dismissal, saying that there was no place for corrupt and incapable officials in the department.
He added that officials who failed to respect the honour of their uniform did not deserve to be on the force.
He said, “Honest, hard working and diligent police officers are the pride of police department while a few black sheep are defaming the force,” adding that these officials did not deserve any favour.
