The government has spent the last 17 days paying a lip service. Essential items are still not been provided to anyone. On the other hand, the aid provided by volunteers has also been stopped by the government. This proves that reservation over providing the needy people’s data to the Sindh government by the federal government is right. The government is waiting for deaths, which will happen not only due to coronavirus but due to hunger. The government is waiting for a crisis. In this a vulnerable situation; the government has never missed any political point-scoring. But delay in aid programme by the government is triggering other crises; which is not giving any practical picture to this aid programme. The government officials are still collecting ID cards but not providing anything to poor. These thoughts were expressed by local candidates of all opposition party in the all-party conference arranged by the PPP at the People’s Secretariat Gondal Wala. The conference was presided over by PPP City Secretary Information Sagheer Butt. He said that due to continued lockdown, the poor citizens were very depressed and had nothing to eat. Daily wagers are relying on the government for their families. The government is doing political point-scoring at this time. Not providing essential items by calling the people to the Governor’s House is a silly joke by the government.
On this occasion, PML-N leader Kamran Khalid Butt, JI’s Furkan Aziz Butt, JUI’s Babar Rizwan Bajwa, Malik Zulfikar Bhutto, Rana Muhammad Haneed, Abdullah Zubair, Khawaja Umer Saleem and many others were present. They said that in presence of government officials, the making of taskforce by government is nothing but lack of confidence. They said spending millions on uniform of this force and other expenditures along with delay in providing funds to the poor people is nothing but lack of seriousness by the government.
