Earlier Yesterday, Farogh Naseem stated that he had voluntarily tendered resignation for the better interest of the country. “If anyone does not believe it, he can ask it from the prime minister”, the senior lawyer was quoted as saying.
Senator Farogh Naseem had resigned as the minister of law and justice on Nov 27 to fight the case of Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa. “The Cabinet had lauded Farogh Naseem’s abilities and hard work,” Rasheed Ahmed stated in a presser while adding that none of the Cabinet members criticised the former law minister.
It’s worth mentioning here that, in light of the government’s undertaking, the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Thursday (Nov 28) granted six months conditional extension to Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
A three-member bench — comprising Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Asif Saeed Khosa, Justice Mian Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel and Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah — announced the much-anticipated verdict after being assured by the government that parliament will pass legislation within six months.
