In line with the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the officers and staff of the National Highway Authority expressed solidarity with the Kashmiris in their freedom struggle. Standing in front of the NHA headquarters building, they raised slogans in favour of their Kashmiri brethren. National anthem of Pakistan and anthem of Kashmir were also played on the occasion. NHA Chairman Capt (r) Sikandar Qayyum led a rally comprising NHA officers and staff. The same activities were also conducted at NHA zonal offices in Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Gilgit Baltistan and in maintenance units spread across country where relevant members, general manager, officers and the staff extended the fullest support to the Kashmiris in their prolonged struggle for freedom. At NHA headquarters, NHA chairman told the rally that Kashmir is the integral part and jugular vein of Pakistan and that Pakistan has presented its viewpoint of the issue before the world community. “The United Nations should realise its resolutions on Kashmir for peaceful settlement of the dispute,” he said, and demanded immediate halt to brutalities being committed by Indian forces in the occupied valley. “Pakistanis stand united to support their Kashmiri brethren,” he added. Slogans like ‘Kashmir Banega Pakistan’ and national songs on solidarity with the Kashmiris were also played on the occasion.
