A huge outbreak of dengue fever is expected in Karachi and other parts of Sindh following recent heavy rains, sources said. They said concerned government departments have already been alerted in this regard. They said in this connection an urgent meeting of Prevention and Control Program for Dengue in Sindh was held on Friday at their Karachi office. The participants were senior officers & Divisional staff from all over the Sindh. The purpose of the meeting was to review the situation of dengue cases in Sindh Province, which was found under control. The meeting discussed a Post Monsoon plan and said that a survey team was constituted to conduct the survey especially in Karachi Division to identify the areas where the rainwater is stagnant and high mosquito density.
