On Thursday, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor Naeem Bukhari was informed by the Supreme Court that he needs to ‘work harder’ to get the National Assembly’s Opposition Leader Shehbaz Sharif’s bail canceled, a private news source reported.
A three-member bench headed by Justice Azmat Saeed heard arguments for the cancellation of Shehbaz’s bail. Former Attorney General Ashtar Ausaf represented Shehbaz.
Fawad Hasan Fawad’s counsel Azam Nazeer Tard said that he wished to submit additional documentation to the court. The judge accepted this request, adding that the court will hear prosecution in detail. He further said that there is a need to highlight the role played by the key actors.
Justice Ijazul Hasan ordered for a charge sheet to be prepared and presented to the court.
The hearing has been adjourned till May 15.
