Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has prepared his response to a letter written by the Punjab government vis-a-vis his medical treatment, and maintained that ‘humiliation’ in the name of treatment is not acceptable to him.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo has stated in his reply that he is being moved to the hospitals like a refugee. He further stated that he has complete trust in courts and that he will himself take care of his treatment if a relief is given.
Family sources said the letter will be forwarded to the Punjab government in two to three days. Nawaz Sharif earlier refused to be relocated to a hospital for treatment despite requests by his family members after Prime Minister Imran Khan directed the Punjab government to provide the best medical treatment to the PML-N supremo.
Meanwhile, Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid Wednesday said Nawaz Sharif is being provided all medical facilities at jail and that he is feeling better now. She urged the Sharif family to not do politics on his health, adding that the former prime minister should openly accept if he wants to go abroad. “Maryam Nawaz should pray for her father instead of tweeting,” she added. The provincial health minister said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and PML-N are just political opponents, not enemies. She affirmed that Punjab government is providing the best medical facilities to Nawaz Sharif.
