NEW DELHI: After refusing to play World Cup match with Pakistan, India now threatened to stop water flow into the country.
Indian Minister for Water Resources Nitin Gadkari in a message on famous micro blogging site Twitter said “Under the leadership of Hon’ble PM Sri Narendra Modi ji, Our Govt. has decided to stop our share of water which used to flow to Pakistan. We will divert water from Eastern rivers and supply it to our people in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab.”

In another tweet Nitin Gadkari said “The construction of dam has started at Shahpur- Kandi on Ravi river. Moreover, UJH project will store our share of water for use in J&K and the balance water will flow from 2nd Ravi-BEAS Link to provide water to other basin states.”

The water resources minister said that water from the three rivers (Ravi, Beas and Sutlej) will be diverted towards occupied Kashmir and Indian Punjab.
Earlier during his tenure, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi many times had threatened to turn Pakistan into a desert by stopping water flow.
Modi once said “We will soon turn Pakistan into a desert. We will stop every drop of water going from India to Pakistan, water belonging to India could not be allowed into Pakistan.”
