Swiss Ambassador Thomas Kolly Wednesday visited COMSATS University Islamabad on the invitation of the rector along with a three-member delegation comprising Prof Stylianos E Antonarakis from University of Geneva Medical School Switzerland, Prof Sergey Nikolaev of Gustave Roussy Cancer Center France and Dr Muhammad Ansar from University of Geneva Medical School Switzerland.
The delegation held a meeting with the top management of the university led by the rector. Head of the International Office gave a brief presentation about the university. The rector elaborated a rich research culture and various research initiatives of the university to improve quality of research and teaching at all the campuses. He also offered to host academicians and researchers from Switzerland to visit the university to carry out joint scientific research. Faculty of Sciences dean briefed the delegation about university’s existing research collaboration with CERN and EPFL. Ambassador Thomas Kolly elaborated different higher education scholarships being offered by Switzerland for Pakistanis and emphasized the need to encourage faculty exchanges between the universities of both the countries.
