ISLAMABAD: A two-judge bench of Islamabad high Court (IHC) on Wednesday heard the arguments of Khawaja Hariss advocate of Nawaz Sharif on petition challenging the Avenfield reference.
Khwaja Hariss, former primer Nawaz Sharif’s counsel presented his arguments against the petition challenging the Avenfield reference verdict against Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and his son-in-law Captain (retd) Safdar.
Hariss argued before the bench that he had not seen the statement of Joint Investigation Team and prosecution’s witness Wajid Zia regarding Avenfield ownership.

On July 16, Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Captain (retd) Safdar had filed appeals against Avenfield verdict.
Earlier, Accountability court judge Mohammad Bashir on July 6 convicted Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (retd) Safdar in the Avenfield reference and sentenced them to 10 years, seven years and one year respectively.
