The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Badin, Hassan Sardar Niazi, on Friday, registered the First Information Report (FIR) against the management of Fauji Sugar Mills Khoski, owned by Anwar Majeed who is also a close friend of the former president, Asif Ali Zardari.
The FIR number 62/2018 was registered after a complaint was lodged by Muhammad Saleem, an inspector of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) from Hyderabad. According to the FIR, during the raid on the sugar mills a few days back, the FIA recovered submachine guns with ammunition and four semi-auto rifles from the sugar mills.
The Station House Officer (SHO) Khoski Police Station, Imam-ud-din Dahani, confirmed to the local journalists that the case was registered against the management of the sugar mills.
Here it may be recalled that the FIA team, with the help of Pakistan Rangers, raided at the sugar mills after getting a tip and during the raid, the FIA officials took away some devices and other documents in connection to an on-going investigation for money laundering against Anwar Majeed.
