LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry on Tuesday said that party leader Amir Liaquat’s remarks against the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) are his personal views, and do not represent the party stance.
Amir Liaquat had criticised PTM leader Manzoor Pashteen in his talk-show on a private news channel on April 16.
“Manzoor Pashteen’s narrative is that of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and not of the Pashtuns. He is backed by blasphemers such as Mehmood Achakzai and he continues to speak against the country’s intelligence agencies and armed forces. Tell me, isn’t such a person an enemy of Pakistan?” Amir said.

Daily Times reached out to party spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry, who distanced himself and the party from the anchorpersons’ remarks. Fawad said that Amir Liaquat’s statements are strictly his personal views and do not, in any way, represent the party stance.
“The party stance is that of Imran Khan. There is a lack of infrastucture in FATA and we believe that grievances of the FATA residents should be considered. The party recognises the valiant efforts and sacrifices of our armed forces,” Fawad added.
The PTI spokesperson, however, took a jab at former PM Nawaz Sharif saying that if he had accepted PTI’s demands of the FATA-KP merger, the PTM would not have existed.
