ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) established a control room to receive preliminary results of NA-4 Peshawar-IV by-election, to be held on October 26.
According to the ECP, the control room, established at ECP secretariat under the supervision of additional director general (elections), will also receive polling day complaints. The seat had been vacant after the demise of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) dissident Member of National Assembly (MNA) Gulzar Khan. According to details, the election would be contested by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Nasir Khan Mosazai, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) candidate Asad Gulzar, PTI’s Arbab Amir Ayub Khan, Awami National Party (ANP) candidate Khushdil Khan, and a number of independent candidates. In 2013 general elections, PTI’s Gulzar Khan won the election by securing 55,134 votes, while PML-N’s Nasir Khan Mosazai was the runner-up with 20,412 votes.
