SRINAGAR: The incarcerated Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah has appealed the Pakistan government to take the Kashmir issue to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on Tuesday.
In a statement, Shabir said that “Pakistan being a sovereign country and a stakeholder of Kashmir dispute has every right to refer to the international court.”
“Just as India took the case of Kulbushan Jadav to ICJ, Pakistan should follow the suit and garner international opinion over the issue. By doing so, Pakistan can gain the diplomatic support of world nations in putting an end to Indian state-sponsored terrorism in Kashmir,” he said.
Shabir has appealed to the permanent members of the United Nation (UN) and its Secretary General to grant an “Observer” status to Jammu Kashmir given its disputed nature. He said that the struggle of the people of Jammu Kashmir against India is same as that of Palestine against Israel.
