SHIKARPUR: One assailant was killed in retaliatory firing by security guards while two others managed to escape at Bhongir Bazaar in the limits of Stuart Gang Police Station here. DSP Shikarpur, Abdul Hameed Panhwar informed journalists that three armed men attacked Manzoor Luhar, a famous dealer of arms and ammunition and opened indiscriminate fire on him. His body guards also fired shots at the attackers, killing an assailant identified as Mumtaz Ali on the spot whereas his two accomplices fled away. DSP said Manzoor Ahmed Luhar and his cousin Gul Muhammad Luhar were also injured adding that Manzoor was referred to Sukkur Civil Hospital for his critical condition while his cousin was out of danger. Police moved the body to civil hospital Shikarpur for postmortem and then it was handed over to his relatives. The police said that the tussle looked an old enmity.
