RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Monday sent four militants to the gallows over alleged involvement in the Karachi airport attack.
The military’s media wing – Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) –reported that the black warrants signed by the COAS were the first that Bajwa approved after his appointment.
The ISPR said that arms and explosives were recovered from the possession of the suspects – who were tried by military courts and found to have been involved in ‘heinous offences related to terrorism, including killing of innocent civilians and personnel of various law enforcing agencies (LEA)’.
Convicts details as provided by the military:
AttaurRehman, Muhammad Sabir, Muhammad Farooq Bhatti andGul Zareen– active members of a proscribed organisation – were found guilty of attacking civilians, security and LEA personnel.
