Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has expressed that the bans on internet-based apps destroyed the tech industry.
In a tweet on Wednesday, Fawad Chaudhry wrote that the bans on internet-based apps have destroyed Pakistan’s tech industry.

According to Chaudhry, the development of technology will be permanently hampered. “We are still not out of woods because of judges ill-advised interference in economic matters,” he added.
As per the science and tech minister, banning applications is never the solution a regulatory framework is the need of the hour but a step like this could hinder technological growth. The information technology sector is one of the fastest growing sectors in Pakistan and contributes 1 per cent of GDP.
TikTok has been the center of controversy in Pakistan over its content. But there are several positive aspects of such applications as well that shouldn’t be ignored.
