Dengue viral fever has claimed two more lives in a private sector hospital of Karachi in last 24-hours, taking the death toll from this mosquito-borne disease to 37 since Jan 1, 2019. A 60 years old man, resident of Shah Faisal Colony and a 40-year old man, resident of Korangi died of dengue fever in a private sector hospital of the city last night.
Spokesman Prevention and Control Program for Dengue (PCPD) Sindh, while talking to PPI, confirmed the death of two persons in a private hospital due to dengue fever and informed that a total 37 people have so far been died in Karachi this year. Moreover, 137 new dengue cases surface in the city during last 24 hours.
At least 141 new dengue fever cases emerged throughout the Sindh province in a day, out of which 137 were reported in Karachi and four in other districts.
In November, a total of 4,763 dengue positive cases surfaced throughout the province out of which 4,354 were confirmed from Karachi and 409 from other districts.
In 2019, a total of 14,317 dengue cases were detected in Sindh province so far out of which, 13,330 happened in Karachi and 987 in other districts.
