Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Saturday said that the conspiracy being hatched by the opposition parties against the democratically elected government would fail.
“Hatching a conspiracy against the democratically elected government in the name of Iftar during the sacred month is regretful,” she said in a tweet while commenting on opposition parties’ Iftar dinner planned for Sunday (today).
She said that during the holy month of Ramazan, special attention was given towards fulfilling religious and social duties.
“Whatsoever the opposition now faces is the consequence of their ill-intentions. They (opposition) always worked to make money, and only thought about the well-being and bright future of their children. Unfortunately, those who created problems for the people are now busy protecting their personal, political and business interests in the name of Iftar parties,” she said.
Earlier on Friday, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari made a telephone call to PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif and invited her to his Iftar dinner to be held this Sunday. He also talked to JUI-F chief Fazlur Rehman, ANP President Asfandyar Wali Khan, PKMAP chief Mehmood Khan Achakzai, BNP (Mengal) chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal.
