Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Information Firdous Ashiq Awan, on Monday, claimed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government would soon overcome economic challenges through its reform programme.
In a statement, she said the government had joined hands with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to improve the economic condition of the country and benefit masses.
Awan added the country faced economic crisis due to the management and corrupt practices of the previous rulers.
“Ehsas Programme” would be expanded as its budget would be increased from Rs100 billion to Rs180 billion, she added.
Earlier on Sunday, the special assistant had asserted that Prime Minister Imran Khan was fighting for the rights of downtrodden segments of society.
While addressing a ceremony in Sialkot, she noted that the premier was making concerted efforts to ensure supremacy of merit in the country.
“He is fighting the case of 220 million people,” she added.
A new local government system was said to have been introduced in Punjab, which would ensure devolution of power to the grass-root level.
She called the new local government system the first step towards the creation of a new Pakistan.
This new system would play a compelling role in resolving people’s issues at their doorstep, Awan had concluded.
