A resolution was submitted in Punjab Assembly on Saturday against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader, Jahangir Khan Tareen. The resolution demanded the contempt of court proceedings against him for attending the government meetings despite being disqualified by the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) Punjab Information Secretary and member of Provincial Assembly Azma Bukhari presented the resolution. MPA Bukhari, also a lawyer, claimed, “It is a sheer contempt of court as a person who was disqualified by the apex court is interfering in the government affairs.” Meanwhile, another resolution was also submitted by PML-N’s Hina Pervaiz Butt demanding an All Parties’ Conference over the deteriorating law and order situation of the country. “The government is spending billions of rupees on the security agencies but still we aren’t getting the results because the National Action Plan wasn’t implemented in the true letter and spirit,” she said. This House demands from the government to convene an APC keeping in view the current situation of the country.
