As Pakistan and India remain entangled in their clashes, China has once again come forward with efforts to promote regional peace
Spokesperson of Chinese Foreign Ministry Lu Kang, on Monday, said that they would welcome all positive measures to reduce tensions simmering between the two countries.
He asserted this during a regular press briefing in Beijing, further adding that China was in close contact with both of them and was making efforts to promote peace and facilitate talks.
Lu Kang reiterated how China has repeatedly expressed hopes for India and Pakistan, two important South Asian countries, to enjoy good neighbourliness and friendship, and solve their issues through friendly consultations.
He added, “China will continue to play a constructive role to help ease the situation and promote regional peace and stability.”
The situation has turned hostile in tit-for-tat airstrikes in the wake of the Pulwama attack that killed over 40 Indian troops in Indian-occupied Kashmir on February 14.
In response to the Indian aggression of February 26 at the Line of Control, Pakistan Air Force shot down two fighter jets of Indian Air Force in broad daylight on February 27.
Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor claimed that Pakistan had hit the Indian warplanes to demonstrate its defence capabilities against the Indian provocation.
