Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) can be banned if India boycott World Cup match against Pakistan, scheduled in June this year.
According to the sources, BCCI can face a ban if it boycott World Cup match against Pakistan, which is schedule on June 16 this year in Manchester, England.
If India don’t field its team in the ground against Pakistan, it will lose two points and can also face a ban from International Cricket Council (ICC).
Earlier, Indian cricket fans urged Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to boycott World Cup 2019 match against Pakistan scheduled in Manchester, England this year.
Former Indian cricketers including Harbhajan Singh also asked India for cricketing boycott of Pakistan after Pulwama attack in Indian paramilitary police in Kashmir.
According to the sources, Indian fans and some of the former cricketers asked BCCI to boycott the World Cup 2019 match against Pakistan schedule in Manchester, England on June 16, 2019 after a suicide bomber killed 44 members of the Indian paramilitary police in Pulwama, Kashmir last week.
Meanwhile, International Cricket Council (ICC) said that Pakistan-India World Cup clash will be discussed on the sidelines of ICC meeting, which will be held in Delhi from February 27.
On contrary, BCCI in a statement said that nothing can ban Pakistan from the upcoming World Cup to be held in England in May this year.
