KARACHI: Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunications Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui on Tuesday said that Pakistan can introduce 5G (5th Generation) service by next year saying it would attract huge foreign investment.
Pakistan has experienced 3G and 4G mobile broadband technology successfully, said the minister adding that the number of users are increasing with each passing day.
“Introduce more innovative services in the mobile broadband arena will not only facilitate consumers but also attract foreign investments,” Siddiqui said.
He also said that foreign companies are interested to invest in Pakistan as ‘it is a huge market and the 5th largest free-lancing country in the globe’.
Moreover, Siddiqui stressed on the importance of Information Technology saying it is the main tool to bring change in the country.
