ISLAMABAD: The capital administration in connection to Muharram processions has imposed a two month ban on pillion ridding.
Deptuy Commissioner Hamza Shafqaat said that district administration has taken foolproof measures to cope with the security threats and act of violence (if any) to maintain the peace in the city. The ban is imposed under the section 144 of Code (CrPC).
The government has directed the local administration to intensify checking of vehicles within the high-security Red Zone and also at all points leading into the federal capital.
Muhharam-ul-Harram is expected to start on September 12.
