Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Wednesday assured that concrete measures were being formulated to counter potential consequences of extreme heat and drought due to lack of rainfall in many areas of Sindh.
Reportedly, he addressed the media after extending condolences to the bereaved family of Pakistan Peoples Party Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Ghulam Mujtaba Isran, who died recently.
He revealed that contagious diseases and outburst of viral infections were expected to rise among people and animals, and asserted that PPP would serve the general public with its full capability.
He also asserted that Senator Aitzaz Ahsan would be PPP’s nominee for the slot of the President of Pakistan, and denounced opposition’s protest.
The CM stated that cases could not be discussed in the media according to the court’s order, and reiterated that PPP encouraged ‘accountability for all’; however it should not be based on political victimisation.
He stated that he would negotiate with the federal government for resolving Sindh’s issues pertaining to water scarcity and finances.
Besides, local bodies minister Saeed Ghani, divisional and district officials were also present on the occasion.
PPP Chairman Bilawal to host Eid-Milan party in Larkana
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Wednesday arrived at Bhutto House in Larkana.
Earlier, PPP Member of National Assembly (MNA) Sardar Khalid Ahmed Khan Lund, MPA Ali Nawaz Khan alias Raja Khan Mahar and Chief Minister Adviser Sardar Mohammad Bux Khan Mahar called on Bilawal Bhutto at Bilawal House in Karachi to discuss initiation of development projects in Ghotki district.
He would be staying in Larkana for the next three days, and would host an Eid-Milan party on Thursday (today) in honour of his election agents.
Other party leaders are also expected to attend the event.
Residents appeal to Shaikh Rasheed to restore train service in Larkana
Residents of Larkana on Wednesday appealed to the Minister for Railways Shaikh Rasheed Ahmed for restoration of train service on Kotri-Larkana-Sehwan-Rohri route for the welfare of the general public.
Meanwhile, only two trains including Khushal Khan Khatak Express and Bolan Mail are operating on the route at night time.
They said that the minister had announced to bring reforms in railway services and open new routes, and alleged that the traders, businessmen and people of Larkana would not be able to get benefit from such reforms.
They stated that they have to travel to Rohri from Larkana for catching a train to Lahore or any other city of Punjab or Peshawar.
The residents further demanded restoration of Larkana Junction railway station and Kambar railway line which had been deserted due to negligence of previous rulers in complying with the orders of the Sindh High Court to restore Kambar railway line.
Social workers including Shakil Abbasi, Sheeraz, Jamil Abbasi, Sarfraz Kalhoro, Mahmood Abro, Javed Bhutto and others appealed to the Prime Minister Imran Khan to order provision of equal transport and railway services to the people of Pakistan for preventing discrimination.
