ISLAMABAD: The accountability court hearing the corruption cases against former premier Nawaz Sharif and his family resumed today proceedings pertaining to the Avenfield properties references.
Today’s agenda includes Nawaz Sharif’s lawyer Khawaja Haris cross-examining National Accountability Bureau (NAB) investigation officer Imran Dogar, who also happens to be the prosecution’s final witness.
Dogar had earlier testified in court that Nawaz Sharif was indeed the owner of the London flats while simultaneously holding public office.
The officer added that the PML-N used offshore companies to buy the flats in someone else’s name.
He also asserted that Nawaz Sharif had been using the flats since 1993, and the trust deeds Maryam Nawaz had submitted to the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) were fabricated.
Both Nawaz and his daughter Maryam are present at the hearing today.
