PESHAWAR: Parliamentary leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Sardar Aurangzaib Nalota on Monday alleged that PTI Chief Imran Khan was trying to provincialize China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) for political gains besides making an unsuccessful attempt to raise his dwindling popularity graph in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
“I appeal Imran Khan and PTI leadership to avoid giving provincial colour to the CPEC and support federal government in completion of this milti-billion dollars and multi-faceted project that would directly benefit people of the entire country,” he said while talking to APP.
Terming CPEC one of the biggest developmental projects of the world, Nalota said the anti-Pakistan forces were against the CPEC who were trying to make it controversial like Kalabagh dam to keep the country backward.
He said the CPEC would be the 8th wonder of the world and would immensely reduce time and space among the regions countries. Nalota said unnecessary criticism on CPEC was tantamount to impeding the progress and development of Pakistan. Rejected politicians have once again come out to mislead people on CPEC by raising unjustified controversies on western route of the project, he mentioned.
He said people from Karachi to Peshawar and Gwadar to Chitral were on the same page regarding CPEC and would thwart all the negative attempts and designs against this game changer project.
The PML-N leader said a huge amount of foreign direct investment came to Pakistan after a long time due to prudent economic policies of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and underlined the need for political cohesion for successful implementation of CPEC.
