The Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh for Information, Law and Anticorruption Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that much headway had been achieved in forming standing committees of the Sindh Assembly. Keeping in view the interest of the province, genuine demands of opposition would be accommodated. The Advisor shared his political underpinnings while talking to media persons at arts council of Pakistan on Friday.
To make parliament an effective forum for better legislation in the best interest of people, government and opposition have to sit together for evolving working relationship; He informed that PPP government has invited opposition to evolve working relationships to make Sindh Assembly an effective forum, for highlighting issues of people and finding out solutions. He termed meeting with opposition a positive move, vowing to accommodate ‘traditions’ of Sindh Assembly that all the decisions related to appointment of PAC chairman and formation of standing committees would be taken as per rules and regulations-traditions of Sindh Assembly.
Barrister Murtaza Wahab congratulated Justice Asif Saeed Khosa on becoming chief justice of Pakistan added that Justice Khosa was regarded as ‘jurist of highest calibre’ proven with his conduct and decision in the past. Advisor Information also appreciated the policy statement, Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Asif Saeed Khosa released the other day. He stressed all the stake holders including government, parliament, and judiciary to join hands for bringing reforms in judicial system so that cases could be expedited promptly and relief be provided to litigants.
Moreover, Advisor to CM Sindh called upon the artists to continue portraying positive image of the country, province and the city. He appreciated the artist community for portraying positive image of the country. He said that it was buoying to note the Arts Council now preparing graduates in arts and assured creating job opportunities for the community so that they could earn their livelihood in a respectable manner, besides serving the cause of art.
