ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a person for allegedly impersonating a federal minister.
According to reports, Salamat Ali Chohan impersonated a federal minister and used this fake identity to loot people and get special favours. He had obtained a special number for himself from PTCL while some departments had even issued several orders at his behest.
Chohan also promised many people that he would help them in obtaining loans and subsequently deprived them of millions of rupees.
Sources told media that the accused had also written letters to the District Coordination Officer asking for the provision of security for his protection. Moreover, he had also put forth the demand that he be allotted an office in Chamba house.
After arresting the accused, the FIA shifted him to an undisclosed location for further interrogation.
