Justice Javed Iqbal, Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB), on Thursday visited Lahore Bureau. The Director General NAB comprehensively briefed the chairman on the progress in the investigations of mega corruption cases.
Senior staff of NAB Lahore was also present in the briefing. Combined investigation team headed by DG NAB Lahore including legal and land revenue experts apprised the chairman about the progress in seeking physical remand of Mir Shakil-ur-Rehman.
Speaking on the occasion, the chairman said the anti-graft watchdog sternly believe in freedom of press. NAB is performing its national duties without caring about any duress or propaganda campaign. The bureau would continue performing its duties in future also. NAB is the most prestigious institute working on elimination of corruption from the country.NAB takes action against the corrupt only after collecting sufficient evidence against the accused.
Different national and international institutions including PILDAT,Transparency International and World Economic Forum have lauded NAB’s anti corruption initiatives.
Chairman NAB has directed taking mega corruption cases investigations to logical conclusion as soon as possible besides filing corruption references in relevant accountability courts with evidence.
