The Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) on Wednesday notified that Internet services had been fully restored, ensuring business continuity and high availability of services throughout Pakistan.
The disruption in Internet services was caused due to faults that developed in two cables, IMEWE and SEAMEWE-4. Notification and public awareness messages were immediately broadcasting on PTCL official social media platforms and direct engagement with media ensuring timely updates throughout the disruption during the night.
Here it is pertinent to mention that international submarine cable AAE-1 was not affected during the outage. Working in conjunction with the relevant consortia, PTCL ensured full restoration of its internet services across the country.
Speaking on restoration of services, Fariha Shah, GM Corporate Communication, PTCL said, “We regret the inconvenience caused to our valued customers and thank them for their patience. PTCL kept its customers updated on the status of service rectification via text messages and through social media platforms whilst deploying all its technical resources that worked diligently all night to rectify the issue for providing seamless Internet services.” As of now, all three cables are functioning optimally and customers continue to enjoy PTCL Internet services nationwide.
