Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said on Saturday that the opposition was hatching conspiracies against the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman for influencing corruption cases.
Talking to a private news channel, she said that the opposition, especially Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), was using these tactics against the NAB chairman to defame him in order to escape from the accountability process.
Earlier, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan met Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar and discussed matters of mutual interest, political affairs and progress on payments of dues to media. Speaking on the occasion, the CM said that the country would soon return on the path of prosperity.
“The Pakistani people know that the country has the most transparent government of its history and days of loot and plunder are gone. Now national resources are being spent with honesty. The opposition alliance will soon meet its end. The Punjab government is taking effective measures for the welfare of the people,” he said.
Firdous Ashiq Awan paid tribute to the Punjab government for making arrangements at Ramazan Bazaars to provide relief to the people. She said the Punjab government had provided real relief to the people in Ramazan Bazaars. She also praised the efforts of CM Usman Buzdar and his team for achieving target of the wheat procurement campaign and giving full benefit to farmers of their hard work.
Separately, in a tweet on social media, Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the Punjab’s Growth Strategy 2023 was an important step towards achieving the mission and vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
“Special focus will be put on decreasing level of poverty, on development in backward areas, progress in agriculture, eradication of unemployment, supply of clean drinking water and on provision of education and health facilities,” she said.
“The performance of Shehbaz Sharif was limited to headlines of television channels and advertisements of newspapers,” Dr Firdous added. She said that the fruits of development through Growth Strategy 2023 will reach every citizen of Punjab.
Also on Saturday, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan visited the residence of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Qamar Zaman Kaira to condole the death of his son Usama Qamar. She expressed her deep grief and sorrow over the untimely death of young Usama Qamar in an accident. She was accompanied by Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Syed Samsam Ali Shah Bukhari.
“We all share the grief of the Kaira family on sad demise of Usama,” she said. She prayed to Allah Almighty to bless Usama with high place in Jinnah and give strength to the bereaved family to bear the tragic loss with fortitude.
