BADIN: Police arrested on Tuesday the main suspect in relation to a girl’s suicide in Badin due to online blackmailing.
Anila had committed suicide by consuming poison. A letter found by the deceased’s family revealed that she was being blackmailed by a boy and his friend’s over-edited pictures.
In a suicide note, she narrated her ordeal, and wrote: “I want to live, but Soam Meghwar, Mahesh and Ashok have made my life miserable.”
Earlier in a video, the suspect named Som Pramar denied all the allegations regarding the girl’s suicide.
He alleged that Anila’s father Dr. Lachan wanted to place the blame on him. Som Pramar said that he was on talking terms with the deceased girl and the allegations against him are baseless.
According to the FIR registered on Monday by Dr. Lakhman Parmar, the victim’s father, at the Tando Ghulam Ali police station, three men had blackmailed his daughter for the past six months using doctored images of her. They extorted Rs50,000 from her monthly by sending her the edited photos, the FIR stated.
The group also received Rs50,000 from the girl through blackmailing.
