An Islamabad accountability court on Friday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Younis Qidwai in the fake bank accounts scam after he failed to appear before the court for a third consecutive time. Accountability court judge Muhammad Bashir heard the reference filed against nine suspects, including former Karachi administrator Hussain Syed and Qidwai. At the hearing, seven of nine accused appeared before court whereas Samiuddin and Qidwai did not appear. The court adjourned hearing of the case till May 27, issuing a non-bailable warrant for Qidwai’s arrest. The suspects are accused of illegally allotting plots of welfare purposes in Sindh and causing a loss to the national exchequer.
