Major General Umar Bukhari, on Saturday, assumed charge as Sindh Rangers Director General, here in Ranger Head Quarters. In a simple but impressive ceremony held in Karachi, the outgoing DG Rangers Major General Muhammad Saeed handed over the command to Major General Bukhari. DG Rangers also laid floral wreath on ‘Yadgar-e-Shuhda’ and recited fateha after assuming the charge. The two also met Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah. According to the Sindh CM’s spokesperson, he appreciated Major General Saeed’s services and welcomed the new DG Rangers. Major General Bukhari, who assumed charge as the 14th director general of Sindh Rangers, was recently promoted from the rank of brigadier to major general. He has shown an impressive track record in service after being commissioned in 1991 in PMA Long Course 84 of Pakistan Army. He is also the recipient of the ‘Sword of Honour,’ which is a dream of every military cadet.
