The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has dismissed its transport secretary over delays in the construction of the BRT project in Peshawar. The notification to this effect was issued on Tuesday. Transport and Mass Transit Secretary Kamran Rehman has been removed from his post and the role has been temporarily given to Board of Revenue member Fakhre Alam.
It is expected that action will be taken against other government officials too. KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan said that all people responsible for delaying the project will not be spared.
The CM had asked about the progress of the project during a meeting with the former secretary last week.
