ISLAMABAD: Chairman NAB , Mr. Javaid Iqbal, has said that NAB has adopted the policy of seeing the case and not the face to nab the corrupt.
This policy according to chairman NAB is in line with NAB’s doctrine of all-encompassing ‘Accountability for all’.
While addressing the NAB officers, NAB chairman said that, ”NAB is committed to catch the corrupt, offenders and absconders with iron hands by utilizing all resources’. He said that due to the visible and indiscriminate actions of NAB against the corrupt; NAB has increased its prestige and image.
He also said that NAB is Pakistan’s apex anti-corruption organization. The present management of NAB after assuming the responsibility chalked out an effective and comprehensive National Anti-Corruption Strategy (NACS) for eradication of corruption. NAB’s National Anti-Corruption Strategy (NACS) for eradication of corruption has been acknowledged by national and international organizations, which is a great achievement for Pakistan.
He further said that, the year 2017 was the year of rejuvenation for NAB in order to inquire/investigate corruption cases on merit without any fear and favor. He said that NAB has rationalized its workload and timelines have been prescribed for efficient, effective and expeditious disposal of cases, putting a maximum limit of 10 months. In order to ensure uniformity and standardization, the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for investigation officers (IOs) were reviewed and revised. This has not only increased the quality, but also insured that no single individual can influence the official proceedings of NAB The implementation of enforcement measures and prosecution matters are being monitored in NAB through daily, weekly and monthly reports and inspections. He said that NAB is committed with the realization that eradication of corruption is our national duty.
He said that NAB’s performance is considered as record achievement with overall convictions of 77% which will increase in the years to come. He said that today eradication of corruption is the voice of the whole nation. NAB is geared up to come up to the expectations of the nation, as the whole nation is with NAB to root out the menace of corruption with iron hands.
