ANKARA: Pakistan and Turkey signed a deal on Friday pertaining to the buying of Turkish attack helicopters.
According to the media reports, officials of Pakistan Defence Ministery and Turkish Aero Space Industries negotiated over Pakistan’s interest in buying T-129 Turkish attack helicopters and signed the deal yesterday.
This agreement will help both states to improve bilateral military relations, sources reported.
Moreover, according to the sources, this is the biggest export deal of Turkish defense industry and they are aimed to provide 30 attack helicopters, worth $1.5 billion, to Pakistan within five years.
In November 2017, then Defence Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain stated in an interview that Pakistan was working on an agreement of buying 30 war helicopters and 4 ships from Turkey.
In October 2017, then Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Sunday took a test-flight of T-129 Turkish attack helicopter and appreciated it as an “impressive and good machine”
