ISLAMABAD: Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Minister (PTI) Marriyum Aurangzeb said that lawyers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan were repeating old appeals and narrating old stories to the Supreme Court (SC) in the Panama Papers case.
Talking to the media on Tuesday, the minister said that Imran should consider changing his lawyers again as they failed to provide the court with any evidence. She advised Imran to reconsider the Panama case, which was based on baseless allegations and lies, and withdraw the petition from the SC.
The minister said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) provided concrete proofs and documentations in the court which reflect the complete truth. Marriyum said, “The honourable judges constantly urge the PTI lawyers to present evidence for their demand of the prime minister’s resignation, but they failed to produce any evidence.”
She said that Imran holds press conferences in Bani Gala and becomes a judge and the prosecution himself, claiming unjustifiable accusations. She claimed that tomorrow, a new lawyer would represent Imran and re-launch their journey of lies, as their case is based only on lies. Marriyum said that the PTI was trying to mislead the nation.
She urged the PTI chairman to pay attention to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) where people have been waiting for him to deliver. She disclosed that the federal government decided not to leave the people of KP at the mercy of liars and execute development projects like other provinces.
“Imran claimed to deliver when he comes into power, but he should remember that he was in power in KP province,” she remarked.
