Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has directed to continue indiscriminate crackdown on the elements responsible for creating artificial price-hike and also directed to take strict action against hoarders without any fear and favour.
Chaired a high-level meeting at Punjab House Islamabad on Wednesday, Usman Buzdar said that the administration should itself come out in the field for ensuring price control as people cannot be provided relief by merely sitting in offices. Practical steps should be undertaken in order to ensure sale of essential commodities on fixed prices, he added.
He further directed that FIR should be registered against illegal profiteers and hoarders and legal conditions should also be fulfilled. Price Control Magistrates should monitor and check the prices of essential items on daily basis in order to give relief to the masses, he maintained.
The Chief Minister assured that every possible step will be taken so as to protect public life and property during Muharramul Haram. He directed police to make security further foolproof for mosques, Imambargahs and worship places.
Enemy is conspiring to create instability and we will have to remain alert and standby in order to foil the nefarious designs of the enemy, he added.
The Chief Minister further directed to make even better security arrangements as compared to previous year for ensuring security of Majalis and processions. It is not possible to remain oblivious for a single second during the prevailing conditions, he noted.
Chief Minister while directing to undertake crackdown against publication and distribution of literature based on provocative speeches and religious hatred said that permission cannot be given for any act based on heart-rending anyone. The Chief Secretary Punjab, Commissioner, RPO and CPO Rawalpindi also attended the meeting.
Separately, Buzdar stated that Indian Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi’s illegal and unconstitutional step regarding Indian-held Kashmir was being condemned all over the world.
In a statement, the CM noted that Indian government had converted occupied valley into a garrison and people of Kashmir are suffering from extremely painful miseries and sufferings due to the enforcement of continued curfew. Buzdar remarked that silence of human rights organisations over the Kashmir issue will be a criminal negligence and the UN and the international community should wake up now and take notice of brutalities in the occupied Kashmir.
He said Prime Minister Imran Khan has raised the Kashmir issue emphatically at international level.
