A conference was held here in the federal capital to mobilise the youth to promote peace, harmony, cohesion and inclusiveness in the country.
The conference titled ‘Walwala-e-Amn: Youth Mobilisation for National Cohesion’ was organised by the Positive Pakistan Foundation in collaboration with Paigham-e-Pakistan Centre for Peace, Reconciliation and Reconstruction Studies at Iqbal Auditorium, Faisal Mosque. Around 300 intellectuals including university students and young professionals participated in the conference from all over Pakistan.
The main objective of the conference was to bring youth from all over the country to a single platform to help them develop their leadership skills, highlight issues, understand the challenges, and equip young individuals with solutions by engaging them in local communities for a positive social change.
Positive Pakistan Foundation President Abid Iqbal Khari, Islamic Research Institute Director General Dr Zia-ul-Haq, Qurtuba Islamic Center Director Zahid Iqbal, Sr Vice President Positive Pakistan Umair Raza, CEO of Training Institute for Mentors Excellence Arooj Saqib, Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies Managing Director Abdullah Khan, National Coordinator Alumni Association of NDU Abdul Baqi, CEO Digital Umbrella Sehrish Kanwal, motivational speaker Yasir Arafat, Global Ambassador Positive Pakistan Krisztina Jekkal and President IIUI Dr Yousuf Darwesh were prominent among those who participated in the conference.
Dr Zia-ul-Haq gave welcome address and introduced Paigham-e-Pakistan initiative to the youth. Zahid Iqbal addressed the audience on the topic ‘Quran and the Message of Peace’. Arooj Saqib shared tips and tools on skill development and entrepreneurship for youth. Abid Iqbal Khari introduced ‘6Ps of Peace’. Abdullah Khan talked about ‘Pakistaniat’. Sehrish Kanwal shared her thoughts about ‘Propaganda & Digital Media’. Yasir Arafat delivered a powerful speech about ‘Peace Within’. Krisztina delivered motivational talk about value-based leadership. The youth also participated in national songs and Kalam-e-Iqbal.
In the end, Syed M Anees gave vote of thanks to the participants and the guests. He said the Positive Pakistan Foundation will continue to play a significant role in character building and enlightening the vision of the youth of Pakistan by organising such events aimed at leaning, networking, and capacity building of the youth.
Separately, a seminar titled ‘Constitution, Parliament and State Building’ was organised by the Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services for youth delegation of Positive Pakistan.
PIPS Executive Director Rashid Mafzool Zaka briefed the participants on working and functions of parliament and the role this key institution plays in the life of a nation. During his talk, he mentioned various metaphors in order to highlight the significance of parliament. He elaborated the role of constitution in state-building and underscored the fundamental principles of the constitution of Pakistan. He emphasised the importance of tolerance and dialogue for peace and harmony in the country. An interactive question-answer session followed the individual presentations.
