With at least 44 additional dengue fever cases coming to light in Karachi this week, the reported cases have soared high to 565 since January 1. According to the weekly report issued by Prevention and Control Program for Dengue in Sindh, as many as 52 new dengue fever cases were reported across Sindh in a week, out of which 44 had happened in Karachi while eight in other districts. In June, a total of 22 dengue positive cases were detected across the province, out of which 20 had occurred in Karachi and two in other districts. A total of 602 dengue cases have surfaced in Sindh province so far, out of which, 565 were in Karachi while 37 were in other districts. Two deaths were also reported in Karachi city due to dengue fever this year so far.
